Pictures

Hi again all. I've decided to take the stress off of my website to post all pictures on the SLP website instead of here. I'll just post a note everytime there is an update. The layout won't be anything fancy, just a place to see the photos.

KK, here is where they will live. (If you can't access them yet, that's because I haven't finished uploading.... )

Updates

I know...I've been very lax at updating...That's because we've all been soooo busy rehearsing. We had the talent show on Saturday and it was AMAZING! Lee and Geoff were hysterical. And man, the audience LOVED the "Newsies" sneak-peek.

We had a bit of a scary moment eariler this week when Geoff (David) showed up to rehearsal with a cast on his arm. It would appear he was the victim of a 4-wheeling accident. The doctors don't know if it's broken but our David is in cast for at least 10 days. Ok people, I guess it must be said. NO and I repeat NO extreme sports until AFTER the show, 'k? =-)

Last night we ran Act1 and I'm really happy with everything so far. Most people are off script or at least attempting. The dancing is looking great. The singing is quite powerful.

I've had several comments about Tuesday nights rehearsal. We ran Act 2 and people have been mentioning how Awsome Erik (Jack) was when singing the "Sante Fe" reprise. I think the phrase most used was "He just NAILED it". Yay Erik!!!!! This is Eriks first show (besided the Talent Show) and I know he's really nervous but he really IS "Cowboy". And wow, do he and Geoff click.

I'm also really impressed with the chorus. I know how hard it is to show up night after night and spend so much time just sitting and reacting to the other actors but you guys are the glue that bind us.

Kira, Medda and Jeff really deserve applause for the hard work and talent they have given us. They are responsible for choreographing and teaching all the combat. I initally planned on doing very little actual fighting during the many riot scenes, I was just going to have a lot of pushing and shoving but they have come in and put together TRUE riot scenes. Tons of fighting....it's just spectacular!!!!

Well, that's about it for my poor fingers for now... I will have pictures up in the next day or so. Stay tuned!!!

Wow...and again, Wow!!!!

Tonight is a Act 1 music/dance rehearsal and if the last week is any indication, it will be amazing!!!! The dances are just beyond belief. Shannon is taking elements of the film but adding her own moves and twists. Unfortunatly, last week Shannon fell and is now on crutches for possibly a month...=-( The cast, espically the dancers have been so supportive rallying around her and helping her out.

Saturday was our first day of Newsies boot camp...er...combat training. Kira and Medda did a mindblowing job of getting everyone in shape and SAFELY teaching them. We followed that up with dance (I'm still sore) and music. (What awsome voices)

Petra (Goddess of the backstage) took pictures which I'll post here as soon as I get them. (Wait till you see Cody (AKA "Les") being held 15 feet in the air by the Newsies. Woot!!!

Better run, rehearsal awaits.

Talent Show Planed

We need a show to do in place of "Come Over to Our House" so I've decided to to a talent show. If anyone is interested, drop me a line. I'll let you know when I have more details.

The Bonding Begins...

We had our first "Newsies" meeting last night! It was so great to see most of the cast out, this is going to be an amazing show!!!!!

I'm sure the cast would love me to tell the funny story about how when I said "And playing Medda, is Patsi. Patsi, stand up and let everyone see how elegant you are", she kinda stumbled...but I'm not mean so I won't... =-)

Come Over to Our House Has Been Postponed

Sad news..."Come Over to Our House" has been postponed until January. This is due to the enormity of the set required and our lack of time to build it. However, we would still like the current cast to take part in January. Our first meeting for it will be in October, so keep your scripts and keep learning those lines!!!

Also, for you guys and gals who would get involved but you don't want to sing. That's totally cool, there are tons of non-singing and even non-speaking parts. So come out and tell your friend and family!!!!
